Sherry?
Anyone else finding it really weird the dude with you keeps calling you Sherry? I looked it up and that's french for "darling" or "beloved". Not something you'd constantly say to your bro.

It's probably just short for Sherlock.

Cherie? maybe? (French for "dear".)

Pretty obviously just a nickname for Sherlock

Sherry is an abbreviation of Sherlock in this case. Adding -y at the end of someone's name is common in English to express familiarity. For example, Robert->Bob->Bobby

The French word you're thinking of is "Chéri" meaning dear or darling, however as a French person not once did it sound like he was pronouncing a French word.

Had a random look through the news titbits and came across "Sherry" there as well. I've not played the game yet. However it does seem to be a persons name/ title.

Could have been worse....Jon could've referred to him as ''Shirl''(as in Shirley).

In the novel, Hound of the Baskerville, Holmes is "missing"for part of the story,

In the comedy version of the 'Hound of the Baskervilles', he was missing because he went home to see his mother. And he did complain to her, "Don't call me Shirl, Mum."

There's a difference between "Sherry" (Obvious pet name) and "Chere" (the "feminization that you seem to be salty about)

I think it's a shout-out to the deeper Sherlock Holmes lore. In earlier drafts AC Doyle was toying with the idea of calling his detective Sherrinford (or Sherringford) Holmes. Canon enthusiasts have even proposed that he is a long-lost brother of Sherlock and Mycroft, but it seems Frogwares have taken an alternative route to make "Sherry" part of the lore.

Either that or I just unwittingly revealed a major plot twist. In which case, oops!
