stuttering issues?
I've seen some gameplays and I always notice that there's a lot of stuttering everywhere, I didn't buy the game yet, so I'd like to ask for those who have the game if it really has optimization issues

same thing happens on xsx, stuttering only in open world and spaces, nothing during cases and inside

I have a 1660Ti (CPU: 3700X) and I'm playing the game at 1440p maxed out (epic settings (might be named slightly differently)), aside from anti aliasing which I set one below max (one below epic). That helped to reduce stutter and also made the game a little more congruent looking. (Looks better imho.)

So I cant complain. But then I have Vsync on, and the game could run at 30fps (not 60 probably), I heavent checked.

Subjectively I'm very happy with the perfomance. (Mostly because I didnt think I'd be able to run it at 1440p though. ;) )

Stuttering for me as well. Frametime spikes up but framerate is solid most of the time.

So I guess the build that was just released, 7729661, doesn't have any effect on the stuttering issues? The Sinking City also had significant stuttering during traversal (jogging down a street, for instance) when I played it long after release, so my hopes aren't high that this game is getting fixed. The devs definitely would have encountered the stuttering and must have decided that it wasn't a big deal, or it was too hard to fix, or something. Disappointing but also not surprising

Not sure about other people, but the stuttering got drastically worse for me after the update. So technically the patch did have effect on the stuttering, just not a positive one.

Just checked my framerate, and while I'm running a constant 60 indoors in stonewood manor (pretty empty place as of now... ;) ) I'm droping down to the 45ish in town (average) with lows as low as 37. So dont take my account into consideration. When playing on my LG OLED I have true motion set to clear (which interpolates frames, quite heavily), so that is sure to have masked stutters in my case as well.

When paning the camera I see them, but mostly masked by motion blur and the frame interpolation the TV does. (Just fyi.)

didn't notice stuttering, but at first game refused to even load.
Added -dx11 as startup option and games runs fine.
Its worth a try.

Also take note - Set refresh type in your Graphics drivers to Fixed as Gsync will strobe and ULMB will be washed out in your colors. Then set Vsync to Adaptive for best results.

Stuttering is common in every and each Unreal 4 game on pc, the engine is to blame and everyone should know this fact by now (even if some devs fail to aknowledge it for some reason), moreso on those games than use open world scenery since there are more assets and shaders to load.

My system in case anyone is wondering: Ryzen 7 5800x3D, 32G RAM 3200 mhz Ddr4, SSD Nvme PCI 4.0 Kingstom Fury 7300 mbs, RTX 3080Ti OC and i still experience stuttering on Unreal games. Its the engine.

I applied this on Steam deck just now, but in the first impression I think this made it worse.

Can you explain these settings? :)

maybe it helped a little bit.

limiting to 30fps helps as it only breaks down a few fps. it's much more noticeable in higher frame rates when it goes from 40 to 24 or something.

The stuttering can be mitigated. This is also well known on developers who actually take the time to do that. There might be some residual but there doesn't have to be a lot.
