How to skip combat

I have set the option to "skip fights" but I dont know which button to hit in the game to actually skip it. (On PC)

I tried ESC, L, T.... nothing worked.

It's the Esc key, but you need to keep it held down. Look at the bottom of your game screen at the little rectangle.

Can't get the mouse to work on my laptop to shoot. What else can i do.? I don't have a separate
mouse,

I once had the same problem until I saw in the key assignment that the setting for shooting had changed. Maybe you just have to reassign LM there

you could purchase a mouse. Check your laptop for a outlet to plug the mouse into. Most mouse are USB these days. Either with a cord you can plug into your laptop or PC. Or they are wireless.

If you can reassign a key do that but if you cant purchase a mouse.
