Lost as to what to do
Hello all, i'm wondering how you guys do it.
I want to enjoy the game really, but it feels so directionless, I really don't know what to do, where to go.
AM I missing something, I don't look in the right place ? The journal feels very inaccurate lol.
Any advice ?
Git good ?
Please no :(

Which tasks do you see? Then I can give some advice :-)
Or are you completely at the beginning, in the hotel?

Two things actually. Three things maybe.

First, read the actual descriptions of items/cluecards for your case, that are active. Active means, they have icons next to them.

Second, read the help text regarding icons (what they mean individually) in the help menu. This becomes basically easy mode in this, game, because icons spell out almost everything. :)

Third, listen to indications what you should do in dialog (not by asking NPCs necessarily, but in dialog, if there is a cutscene)

Thats it basically. :)

Then there are stumbling blocks.

One of the most common ones is "pinning" an item (descriotion of an item relevant to your case), so that the pin symbol appears next to it, can change world state. So how people react. What questions you ask, and so on. So something you do in menu, can change the world, thats not that intuitive.. :)

The other one usually is understanding that "descriptions of items/cluecards" (thats one and the same thing btw, in the same menu), is like this games quest tree. But instead of the game auto advancing you through the progression, once you clicked A a bunch (f.e. talekd to a person), it often will just generate another item/clucard. You then have to read it, sometimes even pin it (only if it has a pin icon next to it) so the world state changes, and thenit shows you your next subobjective. As you can chose them freely, you can go into one or another direction first - but the clue cards with "icons on them still", are the ones that still need "you doing or solving something". Once you do, they'll lose the icons, and beceome less relevant for progression (maybe relevant for deduction in the end, but not for progression). So you manually advance the quest tree, and the items with icons on them, are still "not finished".

Third one then maybe is, forgetting to use sherlock vision, but then theres an icon on cluecards to indicate when you have to do it, so - you'd see it, if you understand icons.

And then there is streetnames, which usually mean, open your map, search for that street, intersecting with that other street from a clue, place a point marker there, and go there.... :) Almost all the time. But you have to find the streets on the map, and place a marker manually. Then go there. Game often just throws you streetnames.

Then there are conventions. So, if you are on a screen, that spels x/4 or similar, all of the (four in this case) items can and should be found, before exiting the screen, all clues to an area are usually within the arena, and not far away from it - if they are far away, the game usually has you wondering from one clue area to another clue area using sherlock vision and a drawn in path. So you dont have to wander off exploring wide open spaces on your own. When all clues in an area are found, you get an on screen text telling you, that all clues have been found. And you can use the "ping" feature (the one thats on a cooldown) to mark interactibles in an area. Sounds complicated, but isnt. Oh and if you see a white circle in sherlock vision, center it in your view and look at it closer. Looking at that in Sherlock view also is an interaction. But thats basic tutorial level stuff you'll pick up very fast.
