I think what will happen is that Chapter One will have a ton of complaints and then they'll go back to doing what they used to do, at least to some degree.
It's just annoying knowing that we'll have to wait for this probable disappointment to come out, and then wait for them to make another game.
It's shocking considering how great their older Sherlock games were. Devil's Daughter was great outside the action-sequences too.
I'll buy this game regardless and hope I'm wrong. A Sherlock game is still a Sherlock game, even if it is flawed. I hope we can mod it to make Sherlock look differently.
So very true! Judging by the previous discussions, the devs won't take a hint.
This young Sherlock looks too effeminate even if he's supposed to be in his early 20s or whatever. Also, considering it's 2021 the game doesn't look modern - devs are clearly striving for all PBR and realistic looks but in fairness, stylised approach would work a lot better and hence the game will age better (think Dishonored). This Sherlock looks uninspiring (and overpriced). Guess the budget is the real problem. Not a trace of motion+performance capture in here, sadly. Personally, I would love the crossover between Sherlock Holmes and the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, I think that'd be fun mix of action and deduction which clearly one of the goals for this game.
I would like to step in and clarify a few things here. First of all, thank you all for your feedback, please know that it's much appreciated and is taken very seriously. So seriously, that we will in fact allow you to skip the action parts with an in-game toggle. If you want to focus solely on investigation, feel free to do it!
And if you loved Crimes and Punishments, there's a good chance you will find yourself at home here. We had the game previewed by quite a few media outlets, and most of them seemed to like it (including the investigation part). https://www.ign.com/articles/sherlock-holmes-chapter-one-preview-it-doesnt-care-if-you-cant-cut-it-as-a-detective; https://techraptor.net/gaming/previews/sherlock-holmes-chapter-one-is-off-to-good-start ;

I'm happy to answer any questions you have about the game, btw.
Truer words were never spoken! :)
