In 'working' conditions though, usually you'll have one (or more if you can handle more) rods on a stand and you'll be spin fishing at the same time to fill the space while waiting for a bite on the rod on the stand :)
Hmmm. Sounds like a terrible idea to me. I’m not really after some sort of weird chaos rod mini game. Think I’ll stick to one rod. Wouldn’t say ‘experienced’ fishing is the ability to land 4 rods simultaneously but each to their own I suppose….
There is - you can have five rods out with big hooks on them and you'll get much fewer bites, but only from bigger fish. Increasing hook size will gradually filter out smaller fish, but at the cost of bite rate. :) It's a viable method in-game, I've used it once or twice to target big carp and pike in Russia on 2/0 hooks. Very slow bite rate but you get the big fish.
