We are aware of the fact that we don't know everything about fishing techniques and styles - we can read books, watch movies - but people private feedback/videos/screens are always number 1 priority.
Here in Poland, we don't have bass...maybe beside some small pumpkinseeds. We will try to collect feedback more effective than even in UFS 1.
But one thing is sure - you won't play only in Europe. Prepare for really different places and few of them will be chosen by the community in the surveys!
Ps. Nice to see some "old" faces here. It won't be easy to make you happy :>
Right now I would appreciate some local footages with the camera on "chest" and above lure (underwater) so we can investigate fish behaviours.

The type of fishing in that game is what we call spreadsheet fishing. The fish are static, they don't move or migrate. Same time of day, same size hook, same lure, same spot and the fish are only generated when your lure hits the water, no fish are actually swimming around in the lake. Bang on the same place ad nauseam. Boring and pointless and way over expensive.
Sega Bass Fishing to this day has about the best bass behavior and animations I can think of. Catching the bigger ones requires some technique and even bouncing lures off the ground and other structure results in more bites. The bites, fights, and how the bass moves is top notch compared to today's standard. However, the fighting mechanic could stand to be less arcade-like.
I'm with you on this one, actually thinking that I should give up on early access/loot box/paid demos ridden gaming all together, its getting worst by a year.
I remember the days when I was paying for the full game once, was getting entire fully done product and then maybe two patches later.
But that entire different discussion.
The Fisher certainly has not turned into FP, what gives the OP that idea ? There's no dlc you have to buy and premium (which you don't need) is very cheap. it's a good, solid and fun game that includes fly fishing with beautiful graphics and fish models. The rivers are the best I've seen in any game as is the activity and ambience of the waters which makes the game so special to enjoy.
But as far as the OP goes it is European style fishing. If he must catch bass etc. then his best bets are FP/TF and FSW..
The fun is that the stingray is doing all it can to escape while your doing all you can to try and pull it in. This has not happen yet in any fishing game! Fish has no purpose in other games.
The stingray is moving underwater and trying to suck hard on the floor surface that is what make it exciting. There is the feel of real weight on the ray and not just some statistics or numbers.
The stingray is unique as it grew to that size and that is what made it rare!
I hope at least the recreation of this type of fishing can hyper all all of us up!
