How to slice bread?

To cook French Onion Soup I need 1 slice of bread. I have a bread, Puny Cutting Board, Cheap Microwave, Small Griddle, Gas Range. When I put a "Raw" card on the cutting board, the bread does not fit the card.
Does anyone know how to slice bread?
