Any way to fast forward?
Feels like theres alot of empty downtime. Would be nice to skip to next morning during daytime

Nope, not yet. Though by the third area you typically will have more stuff you can do to fill out the day finally.

after basically finishing everything in the game aside from the last location
it needed some things that basically i cant really do anything about aside from wait
Get XX people in
get XX 5 star reviews which were big numbers compared to the other previous areas
and considering i had the whole thing beat i just ...kept afking it.
