Bear DLC???
Sorry, I seem to be misunderstanding something. One Day 1 there is already a DLC for the game, apparently giving the ability to hunt bears. I thought bears were in the base game? Why is this roughly 1/3 the cost of the "complete" game?

Could someone please clarify? Thanks!

It definitely looks like it can be misleading, but it just gives you access to a bear license right away which costs around 300 credits in-game

You start with 5,000 credits though, so can either buy a gun, clothing or licenses etc.
Thanks. I am just trying to work out what justifies the extra 1/3 cost. That seems excessive for what you (apparently) get.
i bought the bear edition, but can`t find the gun or clothing.

Quick note here:

Bears are NOT DLC. The DLC is just called 'the bear hunter edition' - it will give you some free licenses to hunt bears and a weapon designed for them specifically. Bears are freely available in the game (if you can find them!).

Currently there is an issue with the Marc Newson shotgun 'DLC' - which is a early purchase bonus for everyone on steam - we are looking into this.

For the items included in the bear hunter edition - these are not available on the laptop but already unlocked in your closet.

Thank you for the response. If it is not a DLC, you probably ought to take it up with Steam Valve. "Hunting Simulator 2 Bear Hunter Pack" is listed under DLCs and labelled as such in the Steam Store, so as you probably ought to predict, everyone is going to think it is DLC, especially since it is priced like one....

So again, why is the price over 1/3 the cost of the base game? As far as I can tell, it is nothing more than two extra rifles, a set of clothing (three items)? Is that about right?

As a separate purchase, this costs £13.50 in the UK; base game is £35, so 38% of cost of the base game for 2 rifles and 3 pieces of clothing? Or I can pay about half of that and get a complete map DLC, including animals and weapons for theHunter: Call of the Wild.

Looks like I'll be refunding.

You might want to lead with that next time.
Yeah Snail I saw that too I mean geesh when COTW was released when I bought it at least was about $30 USD and that required no licenses to hunt any of the animals in either of the original maps and now in all the maps if you get them all in game including all the big game like bear and moose.

COTW also has far better pricing on their DLC $7.99 for new maps (which are HUGE!) and $3.99 for all other DLC.

Their going to have to do far better pricing then that for me to crack my wallet as I got the other hunting simulator and don't even have 2 hours into it in fact I have more hours in hunter primal which is bug ridden then I have in the original hunting sim.

This one gets a pass especially with mixed reviews!

Yeah, I have requested a refund. I'll think about it again when it comes out on Switch and I might give it a go then. We'll see.

What? HS2 looks like it's ten years late to the party

its more for peoples who like to earn fast money and not spending time in hunting, you can buy all on your store with money you got from hunting, its just cosmetic and nothing is exclusive

ROTFLMAO "100000x better" hardly. at best its even and not even sure if I would call it even!

And funny here is your games list and COTW isn't in the list.

https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561199016307441/games/?tab=all

I also have to laugh 121 games owned but only 3 of them have more then 10 hours in the game best being 30 hours. Majority of the games you have maybe an hour or two in them and that's it.

And you expect us to believe you have a valid opinion.

Exactly and there are hunting games that are equal to or superior to HS2 that are even cheaper and the DLC is far better priced on COTW!

Yeap and being you have almost 1200 hours in COTW I think you are more then qualified to give a valid opinion unlike the guy above that claims it's "100000x better" and yet doesn't own the game as far as steams concerned at least and has very little hours in the majority of the games in their library!

I was more than happy to give HS2 an honest try, but weapon/clothing DLC that cost 38% of the base game? No. Not going to pay that at all; I'll do without both.

As I said, I might give it a go on the Switch when it is released, if I can pry my kid's hands off long enough to try, but at this point, probably even that is unlikely.
