Legendary animals - inquiry

Hey fellas, can I have a couple of questions about Legendary animals? As far as I know, they vary in age, the only thing that makes them Legendary is their skin/fur pattern. Is that right?
But how to know if I actually hunted down a Legendary game? Is there any indication of that anywhere, or are we supposed to know only by their looks?
Also, what species can be Legendary? Only big game, or like rabbits and birds as well?
I'd appreciate if you fellas shared your experience, because I've been playing many hours and shot many animals since the update, but I have no clue if I met any Legendaries at all.

Ok I've learned that the 'title' of Legendaries should appear in gold, not white, so as an experiment I went into every map and did nothing but spotting animals. After about 7-8 hours and 300+ spotted animals I haven't found a single Legendary. Just like in the past almost two months since the update. I see some animals with seemingly unique patterns, but there's no indication of being a Legendary.

Some word would be appreciated to know if this is a bug, or they have to be unlocked somehow.

Yeah, animal spotting was just a test for today and yesterday. Killing them what I've been doing in the past months. In videos people don't have difficulties finding them at all, in fact, some people complained about finding too many of them. I guess they're supposed be rare, not abundant, or in my case, totally missing.

Sir, I have no problems with hunting animals. my lodge is complete with matures, I have every species, I have discovered every map, I've been playing since last October.
My problem is that something is blocking me from getting Legendary animals, and I can't figure out what.

Ok I have no idea what happened, but I'm happy to report that I've finally found my first legendary prey. A boar with an albino ear. :))
I'm relieved that my game isn't bugged or anything, it just took quite a while it seems.

I don't know how it works, but that boar was a mature, actually slightly bigger than the one I was keeping as a trophy, so I'm really happy about it.

I'm looking forward to that patch, do we know anything about the upcoming changelog or a probable release date?

Animals spawning in as Legendary's are dictated by the total amount you've shot of a specific species. For example if you've only shot 10x Elk your not going to see a Legendary Elk but if you've shot at least 30x your start to spot Legendary Elks. The more animals you kill the more likely your start to spot Legendary's spawning into the maps. Its that simple, there is no bug or glitch. A Legendary animal on HS2 is based on Fur type only. (Tip: If the name of the animal you've spotted through your binoculars is Gold its a Legendary)

I killed 200+ ducks. I have not seen the legendary ones. Maybe ducks can't be legendary? Or maybe? What other conditions are needed for the appearance of legendary animals?

what about pheasants? one of my friends has a legendary turkey, so I was wondering if pheasants can also be legendary.

Legendary Pheasants can be found. Best place to find one is north west on the Czech Republic Map.

I found a legendary elk on my Nintendo switch I found it at Pawnee meadows right in the middle of the 3 lakes near the cabin I just started like a week ago and hadn't have spend a whole lot of time on this game.maybe it's dependent on luck?

Unfortunately, this is not fully accurate.

I frequently get questions from my viewers about the existence of legendary hares, rabbits and ducks & geese in the game.
So far I always referred to your post here, but now we need some official information about the current status.

Do these animals exist as legendary spawns in HuntSim2?
Pheasant, turkey and the european rabbit are confirmed now, what about the others?

I would appreciate your feedback, since I haven't seen a patch for the game since 2021 I assume you haven't changed anything recently, right?
