Bad Arrow trajectory and velocity.
I can literally throw a stone 3x that far. The arrow falloff is ridiculously close to point of launch. Its also dramatically heavy so when it starts falling off it falls off way too fast.

The tracks are way too obvious which makes the dog an after thought.

Also the racks on a lot of animals suck. Cougars sometimes have spots like they're baby cougars. The start of the game has you hunt a white tail...on a european map.

Just in general you'd be better off not facing Expansive Worlds and theHunter head on.

This is serious slop.

"hunting sim" games are very unrealistic and ballistics there in HS2 are really strange...it seems that devs of this game know nothing about hunting and shooting, they even cannot make normal scopes with normal reticles instead oft his ♥♥♥♥
bow hunting in HS2 is pain in the ass, extremely unrealistic
bow scopes are broken, arrows fall too fast, crossbow scope....it a full crap
those who say that everything is ok there have never played other hunting games

Maybe they should go head on with Expansive Worlds... right now CotW is full of bugs and the community manager and developers seem in denial about it and are content on just releasing DLC and not fixing the game sadly.

This is a very valid point, but most of the time it isn't gamebreaking.

No doubt the devs (especially TK) can't take any criticism whatsoever and act like spoilt children, regularly getting in a strop and deliberately ignoring probing questions during live streams.

As far as dlc goes it is cheap so is low risk......just a shame they can't get more of the bugs sorted....

get to the hunter classic if you look into hunting, Cotw is not bad, but HS2 need to fix tons of things for making it real, if they even add proper weapons balistics and interface , and feeling of hitting targets, they can start earning more quickly, otherwise this one gonna be dead game before hit to the next year.

In my opinion, reviews for "The Hunter Classic" can be ignored, unless they're recent reviews.
The reason?
The majority of reviews were made before the game moved over to a fully free to play pricing model, instead of a subscription based model, plus all weapons, tents, callers etc, were only available to buy with em$ (which cost real money to buy).

This game now has no subscription model and ALL items are available to buy with gm$ (in game cash) which is available from harvests and completing missions.

Players can still buy em$ if they want to buy items without the grind but it is not necessary.

I feel that it's important to point this out as the last comment fails to mention this very important fact :)
Nothing is ideal, both thehunter and hunting sim games have huge problems .Hunter classic has too old graphics, hunter cotw has too much bugs and very underpowered weapons,HS1 is some kind of arcade shooter(I only watched some videos, haven't played),HS2 has bad graphics, very poor animal AI,arcadish gameplay( ammo is free, some maps are too easy,u just run n' gun, extremely weird scopes with too low magnification, weird weapons and shooting at all, vegetation doesn't give any camo, animals are too slow and robotic, triangle of animal senses...).........Probably hunter classic is the best SIMULATOR,it really simulates hunting, but old graphics and play to play system makes it unpopular. And cotw's graphics isn't that good, optimization is horrible...

I agree theHunter/COTW and HS2 should absolutely co-exist, but, it does make me laugh because fans of this niche Hunting genre are always crying out for more hunting games, however, when a relatively unknown developer does give it a spin, the game is typically slated with little to no constructive feedback and instead, people are instantly redirected to theHunter franchise (which isn't a bad thing in itself, it's just it offers nothing productive for other developers) - and, that's not to say there hasn't been any positive and practical feedback for HS2 - there obviously has, it's just a fair portion of it is negative for the sake of being.. negative!

At least they should know shotgun pattern before releasing hunting game.
They already know how to sell manufacturer branded items without even putting proper birdshot pattern, people laugh with their other places to that.
There is also a "slug" barrel shotgun which is only can shoot birdshots.. LOL
Thoose are tools with their own specifications and hunting tactics based on the nature of equipments, so they should stop designing them as a make up items, and start get into the what is actually going on...

I've never had a problem with the graphics on HS2.
UE4 is a good engine and it looks good.

Like I've already said, plenty of times, we haven't got enough good games in this genre so I'm hoping this game improves, because if it does, it will benefit everyone.

Fanboi comments really aren't very helpful, so lets keep everything crossed that this game is allowed to mature.
It has all the necessary items in place and with tweaking, could become very good and give us another go to hunting game :)

Competition is good and healthy!

The Hunter Classic is no longer pay to play.
It is completely free to play and everything can be bought with in game cash, earned with harvests and by doing missions.
Now, to someone starting out and with limited free weapons available, it would be a slow grind, but it is doable.
To a new player I would suggest buying one of the packs (for $20 or so) to get you started and then complete missions and harvests to build up your collection of weapons and callers, tents etc.
As far as the graphics go, for such an old engine, they hold up pretty well (I play in 4K resolution) and look decent enough.

As a hunting experience it's the best game on the market, imho.
COTW is great too, but is a bit easy and HS2 needs more time to mature but it has enormous potential :)

Good hunting all :)

Yes it is doable in classic but 99% of players won't grind the whole day to get ONE new gun or other thing.I used to do but got tired of it.Check my profile.I've unlocked about 60-80% of weapons(no skins for 1 weapon),1 setup for geese,a few tents,2 camo sets, some equipment...So it's still kinda pay to play, you can donate quite a big money to unlock the basic equipment or spend the whole life grinding gems.Cotw is also pay to play, but not as much as classic.

* I've got 3 of them and talked based on spend over 1500 hours on 3 platforms, tagging people as a fan boi is a vice versa thing while actually you are acting like one.

My main goal is taking best out of three.
Taking money for the beretta licence whitout designing proper bird/Buckshot opinion and pattern(thats what shotguns basically do) do not have much difference from scaming.
Taking peoples money and give nothing about it under sim value while marketing as a sim also can called as a scam too, rather than healthy competation...

They just do what they have to do, that is simple.
(Based on 25 years of firearms experience and lots of gameplay hours on whole platforms thc,cotw,hs2.)
the whole HS2 is scam,it's very overpriced...

Softening what is actually going on also will not gonna help healthy competation atmosphere.
IT just give them a chance and more time to do what they are already doing..

End of the day, They just do what they have to do and that includes paying much more attention to the details, because this is what we pay for, Very simple.
(Based on 25 years of firearms experience and lots of gameplay hours on whole platforms thc,cotw,hs2.) Who do the best, people will gonna prefer that there is no another secret dynamic behind that, it is just simple and works.

There are good points in it and if they are listen and improve, it will gonna have a chance, if not, basically it will not gonna last more than 1 year like previous game.
And yes, with the current value, it is more more overpricey from what actually it deserves.
