How do you use the dog?
Hello,

It seems I need some help with the dogs.

This happens to me:

I find a fresh track and let the full leveled beagle follow. This take long time. With very much (!) luck the dog find the animal much later and begins to bark. But at the same time the animal flees before I can see it. Although I converge very careful. I never could harvest a animal with the help of the dog.
For me the dog seems useless.
I don't like comparison, but the dog of the TH Classic works so much better and brings more fun.

Any hints?

Another question:
Can you see a difference between the beagle and the pointer? I can't see anything. For me they do the same.

Thank you :-)

True. The dog scares the prey away. Cannot understand that either.

That is the right way to do it. Problem is when tracking. Sometimes you are too close without knowing.

I've also had couple of times same problem. BUT, if read the info of the Beagle, it say they're also good in confusing big game animals. But for me, he scared them away, instaid of confusing them for me to come closer etc.
Is why, when i'm closer to an animal, i'll call my dog to me, and let him 'Stay', so he not scare the animal again. Of course they should change this in the dog's information, it's very misleading, or the dog need some kind of update (same for other dogs their information and specialties etc)..

I do it in a different way. The dog is very useful aid when you switch all the markers off. Then the dog becomes really necessary.
When I encounter fresh tracks or the dog finds some, I order the dog to follow the tracks, so I can simply go behind the dog without paying attention to the ground. Also I use the certain caller for the animal periodically. When the animal responds, I order the dog to come over and stay down and then I deal with the animal on my own.
Not sure how the barking is supposed to work in the game but now it just scares the animal away.

The beagle is a lovely little dog but is extremely poorly implemented, imho.

It loses the track every 10 seconds and then when you do find something it just scares it off!

It's better just leaving it behind and running around until you get a call, then using callers to bring em in.

Mine is maxed out and works just fine. I disagree.

That's good to know m8.
I'll persevere with it.

Thanks for the info :)
