Thank you for purchasing Unpacking! If you are having any technical issues with the game, look no further than this thread.

The following are not bugs (warning, contains spoilers):

• Can't find a spot for the diploma in 2010
  
• Can't find a spot for the picture in 2012

These are puzzles! If you are struggling with them, there are answers in threads right here in the forum and in guides elsewhere on the internet.

General issues:

I changed something in the settings and now I can't click anything!

You've accidentally rebound your clicking button to something other than your left mouse button. follow these steps to reset the controls:

1. Right click on Unpacking in your Steam library and select "Properties..." from the drop-down menu.
   
2. At the bottom of the "General" tab, you'll see an empty text field with "Launch options" written above it. Write "resetcontrols" in that box.
   
3. Close the properties window and launch the game. Your controls should be reset to default.
   
4. Open the properties window again and remove "resetcontrols" from your launch options so that your controls won't be reset each time you start the game.

My cursor won't move or moves on its own!

You may have a controller or another mouse plugged in that's interfering with your cursor. Try unplugging the controller or second mouse before launching the game.


Mac-specific issues:

I'm using a Mac so I can't right-click, how do I rotate items?

You can right-click on a Mac by holding down the control key while clicking. If you're using a track pad you can also right-click by tapping the track pad with both fingers. Alternatively, you can rebind right-click to something else in the settings menu.


After I type my name into the album and press the golden arrows, the game crashes.

This is an issue specific to OSX 10.12 (Sierra). Unpacking only supports OSX 10.13 and up, as stated in the system requirements on our store page. Sorry about that!


The pause menu text isn't showing up.

We’ve recently fixed this issue. Please ensure you get the latest update for the game, and it should go away.

Hi, the game is really lagging and freezing, only managed to just start 2004 because of it. It's particularly bad when I switch rooms to put something in another room

Hi team, I think my game bugged, I'm in house but halfway through unpacking, it glitched and now I can only access two rooms (bedroom and bathroom). No matter which side I scroll through to next room, I'm only getting bedroom and bathroom. I tried just restarting the level but it's still broken. Am I going to abandon it and start a whole new album?

Sorry, just to be clear—you're in the 2018 level? Can you go to the floor plan and select another room?

Sorry, just to be clear—you're in the 2018 level? Can you go to the floor plan and select another room?

When I go to the floor plan, I can still only select one of the two rooms I'm stuck on. The others aren't available to click on.

I restarted a new album and it's happened again in the exact same place (2012).

Oh, ok! 2012 is only two rooms—your room and the bathroom. The rest is your parents house, so there's nothing for you to unpack there. Just like in the level with the roommates—you can't unpack their rooms!

Hmmm so the problem must be something else - I'll go back in and have a play. Should the floor plan be showing me multiples bedroom and bathrooms though?

You only have access to the bedroom and bathroom in that level, so those should be the only ones you see when you're swapping between rooms. You will not see additional rooms—because there's nothing for you to unpack in the rest of the house!

Hi! I was enjoying the game and everything was going great until I got to 2010 and it suddenly started freezing and then crashing my computer. After restarting the computer and the game, the same thing happens - I've tried twice now. I'm running the game on Mac OS Monterey version 12.0.1. Anything I can do to fix this?

Verify the files on Steam to begin with - and if that doesn't fix it, if you could email your save file to us at [e-mail], we'd greatly appreciate it - we haven't seen this happen before!

Does anyone else have a glitch in Darkstar mode where you can't solve the level where you move in with roommates? I have moused over every item that isn't blinking, but my mouse never lit up and I couldn't interact with any of them. I did move the sticky note off of the corkboard and moved the hangers.
