Thank you for purchasing Unpacking! If you are having any technical issues with the game, look no further than this thread.

The following are not bugs (warning, contains spoilers):

• Can't find a spot for the diploma in 2010
  
• Can't find a spot for the picture in 2012

These are puzzles! If you are struggling with them, there are answers in threads right here in the forum and in guides elsewhere on the internet.

General issues:

I changed something in the settings and now I can't click anything!

You've accidentally rebound your clicking button to something other than your left mouse button. follow these steps to reset the controls:

1. Right click on Unpacking in your Steam library and select "Properties..." from the drop-down menu.
   
2. At the bottom of the "General" tab, you'll see an empty text field with "Launch options" written above it. Write "resetcontrols" in that box.
   
3. Close the properties window and launch the game. Your controls should be reset to default.
   
4. Open the properties window again and remove "resetcontrols" from your launch options so that your controls won't be reset each time you start the game.

My cursor won't move or moves on its own!

You may have a controller or another mouse plugged in that's interfering with your cursor. Try unplugging the controller or second mouse before launching the game.


Mac-specific issues:

I'm using a Mac so I can't right-click, how do I rotate items?

You can right-click on a Mac by holding down the control key while clicking. If you're using a track pad you can also right-click by tapping the track pad with both fingers. Alternatively, you can rebind right-click to something else in the settings menu.


After I type my name into the album and press the golden arrows, the game crashes.

This is an issue specific to OSX 10.12 (Sierra). Unpacking only supports OSX 10.13 and up, as stated in the system requirements on our store page. Sorry about that!


The pause menu text isn't showing up.

We’ve recently fixed this issue. Please ensure you get the latest update for the game, and it should go away.

I've gotten all updates and I still can't press any buttons on the title screen. It worked fine the first time I played but now I can't get past the title screen and I have to force quit to leave.

Sorry to hear that! Did you change anything in the control rebinding screen or did the cursor just randomly stop working?

Sorry to bother, but is the black star in the first level a glitch? It appeared when I put all of the items on the floor, but when I try that on any other level the black completion star never appears. Is it something that changes the story line or is it just there? No one else seems to be talking about it either.

Haha, it's just very hard! there are a couple of secret items that you may not realise can be moved. :)

Hello! I bought the game this morning and finished it, thought it was very cute, and was hoping to look at what I had designed when I encountered a bug I don't see anyone else has mentioned...? If I click on the hamburger menu option while exploring (in top left), sometimes the list of options for help doesn't include any words at all, only icons. I accidentally reset my entire 2004 level because of this bug. I couldn't tell what I was clicking, it was completely blank, but I could still select. It's very frustrating.
This is my first time commenting in a Steam discussion and I'm not sure how to add screenshots, but I hope what I explained is clear enough.

Hi there! Got the game today! but i can't get past typing my name into the album. I click the yellow arrows to continue, but then i get a black screen, the music stops and it completely crashes. I haven't been able to start the game at all :(. Wondering if there is anything i can do to fix it?

I have the same issue, clicking sometimes shows no text just icons! Hard to figure out, I had this occur on the 1997 level!

Running this game for the first time, Steam showed it running at 1000 fps. Please implement some sort of resource limitation. This looks like a very modest game in terms of reuired computing power, so please don't destroy my CPU/GPU by maxing them out for no good reason.

Running the game the first time was fine although now my cursor just hovers over the menu page and I can't even play the game. However I have updated and i'm sad because I just spent $28 bucks on this game, please fix it

Hi there, did you change anything in the controller remapping? If so, it's possible you remapped your clicker to a keyboard key instead of mouse left-click.

Please follow these steps to reset the controls:
