Male mage
Can i play as a male mage? or create my own character? It looks like there're only 3 fixed characters? I don't like playing as a fighter or girl main character

They could always add some transgenders wanna be females that are men and wanna be males that are females that would be a new concept to see in gaming sadly. Or maybe they are trying to get more woman to play their games then men which will never happen as there is nothing wrong with that it might give the woman a break from doing their makeup and looking at themselves in the mirror all the time and undertake some peasant quests that might be a better more fun of a challenge to them then their deadbeat husbands or boyfriends in their life. To me that would be better then going behind his or her back to play a video game instead.
...What the heck did i just read?

My mom prefers to play as male characters. And she felt disappointed to hear that there are two female characters and only one male. She wanted a handsome elf.

I love playing as females.

I don't understand why people think that women always want to play as women, and every time someone adds a female playable character they people think it's because "Women don't want to play as males"...

I'm male, and i prefer to play as females. Does that make me a trans-woman? No. I just love playing as females because i like it better that way.

I am male. And i don't want to play as male mage.

Maybe it's because i grew up on Anime and Cartoons with girl protagonists, but i like girls more. Girls are pretty ^^

that may be so but according to ubisoft data people pick the male version more than the female version.

that game has romance option so most men would pick a male character because of it. also its a man demograpich franchise.
My mom is female and she plays as Alexios because she likes Alexios.

I am male and i play as Cassandra because i like Cassandra more.

My mom loves men.
I love women.

Here i play as Katarina, becuase i like her more than other girl and a boy.

Why people can't see anything outside of "Identification" logic?
I chose a character not because of identification, but because of who i like more.

Always? Thousands? How many games have male exclusive heroes? I can think of 2, and not very popular. Heroes of Annihilated Empires and Fantasy General II main campaigns (you can choose female heroes in multiplayer). How many women play those games and are actually frustrated by the fact?

Gerald of Rivia would like a word with you.

"I don't wanna play as a female human, but I'm fine playing as a half-orc alien centaur druid-necromancer... as long as he's MALE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!!" Jesus Christ.

i dont think it is that easy - my problem is i have no issue with playing a female mage but the voice acting is horrible and she acts like a spoiled btch - thats why i switched to warrior instead

Imagine being afraid to play as a female character because you're a male. lmao.

We should understand their concern. :*(

Shhhh..There is an "Urban Legend" circulating dark web and hidden reddit groups that
if you play too many games as a female, your ♥♥♥♥ falls off :(((

Be brave boys! :*((

People are so freaking ridiculous, this complaint is asinine no matter what side of the argument you are on... Everyone is so fricking entitled and worried about every little detail these days...

It's disgusting that this is considered an acceptable outlook in todays society...

a case study has no significant statistics.

got to say 1 of the biggest let downs for me in any RPG is Limiting the user in what they play and how they play via Character customization and choices, like they could have gave us the Story characters and give is our own pre built ones, Divinity 2 did it and for the price of $50 i expect this game to do it to unless they sell there game cheaper, or the other option is to just have a Male and Female option for all the classes and not Lock them behind genders crap, so with this in mind Originally with this games Mixed reviews and even with the talk about bugs etc i was going to buy the game still because that can be fixed but with the R out of R-P-G i think i will just P-ass on this G-ame.

Two issues here. One, Divinity 2 didn't really give you a custom character. You could play the main storyline but there was literally nothing extra. You lost out on story by playing your own character.

Second, it's super common for characters to be predesigned. Especially in non-western open world style RPGs. You can dislike it, but don't act like it's uncommon.

In these days i should be thankful that at least one of the chars in kings bounty is a male, at disciples liberation you can only play a female. For me this is a real atmosphere killer at an rpg and sadly disciples went to my >only buy on sale< list. Putting girls in franchises made mostly for males destroyed already many movies for me (star wars, ghostbusters, terminator...) so maybe i have become a bit sensitive about this subject.

No you are correct. Some roles are better played by males. It's more believable. The Witcher could never be anything but a male character. There are a few games where it doesn't really matter

I refunded this game just for this reason.
