getting constant crashes
anyone else have this issue? i believe it's memory issues, although i have the recommended amount of RAM at 8GB and still get constant crashes, especially when playing with multiple players. whenever i look at task manager when i crash (typically at bosses or some other time when there's a large number of sprites on the screen) the memory usage is extremely high or maxed out.

is there some way to decrease the amount of memory used by the game, either in in-game options or some .ini file? i've already turned down the screen resolution very low but that didn't really help at all.

I want to know as well. been crashing a lot and it's not playable for me atm. now, my machine ain't that good, but I run more intensive games and it hasn't crashed so badly like this one does.

glad i'm not the only one. i haven't just been getting bad crashes, but sometimes crashes where afterwards i can no longer successfully boot up the game at all. initially after a restart and clearing my appdata folder it would work, but now even that doesn't work. let me know if that happens to you too.

Hey guys! I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with crashing. When the game crashes, do you see the Unity Crash Handler or does the game just randomly close?

To better diagnose this issue, could I request a copy of your log files?
Your log files can be found at:
C:\Users\[YOUR_USERNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\Doom Turtle\EmberKnights\Player.log

Pressing the windows key and then searching for %APPDATA%\..\LocalLow\Doom Turtle\EmberKnights Should bring you to the folder where all of our game logs are stored. There should be both a "player.log" file as well as a "player-prev.log" file.

If you can, please reach out to me in the #bugs channel of the Ember Knights discord to supply the log files as I cannot receive them here.

hey, thanks so much for getting back to me. sometimes the unity handler comes up, and sometimes it doesn't. will send you my logs soon.
been crashing a lot and it's unplayable at the moment. Once i got the blue screen of death. Most of the time it closes out - something did pop up (perhaps that's the crash handler) but could really see quickly enough. Fixable?

Thats extremely odd that the game would be causing you computer to blue screen. I havent had any wide spread reports of crashing recently so it seems like this issue is most likely pretty specific.

Do you experience crashes in any other games you play on your system?

Have you tried running the game with no other programs running on your computer?

If you could, please refer to my original message in this thread so I can take a look at the logs for your crashes.

@DoomTurtleGreg Brand new PC maybe 2 weeks old, running 200+ FPS on some game. Getting roughly 120-140 FPS on EmberKnights. Been playing for a few days after a friend told me about the game. I like it alot and congratulate you on the accomplishment.

However, i have to agree with those above, i'm expierencing the same crashes but only to desktop. Unity handler does come up and i have submitted those reports. I've messed with the in-game settings to no avail. For context, it will be running fine then randomly will crash. This doesn't matter if it's between world loading screen, mid-battle (boss or standard rooms), or sitting in the lobby playing with the weapons/armor colors.

I don't like leaving a problem without a solution, so my thoughts, I think it has something to do with server connections (my whole group is running 300MBPS direct and wifi conections) or a a possible server side issue for when you and a teammate get the final hit on an enemy and the system can't figure out what to do. Not sure if this helps and i do hope to see an update in the near future. Again, great game and congrats on the success it's had.

Hey there, thanks for reaching out!
As I've mentioned to other people in this thread, it would be extremely helpful to get a copy of your log files.

Your log files can be found at:
C:\Users\[YOUR_USERNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\Doom Turtle\EmberKnights\Player.log
