Lost my save...

Was on a new game +6 run with an omega busted build, wanted to see how far I could get and how OP I could make the build.

Saved and quit this morning, launched the game tonight and got an option to continue from either my cloud save or my local file. Chose cloud save, and went to the menu and clicked play. Spawned at the nexus....

Lost hours of progress on a run I was having a lot of fun with.

I guess it's a good thing I had already beaten Praxis on Doom today, because ♥♥♥♥ like this pisses me off more than anything in games. Losing hours of progress on an insanely lucky run with a very fun build due to a stupid bug killed any desire I have to keep playing.

EDIT: We did also do a hofix patch today. If you only lost the progress on your current run it was because of that. We have to wipe saved runs to prevent any possible compatibility issues. If this is the case there is no way to recover the run. My apologies for the inconvenience.

Was your save file completely wiped? If so, if you navigate to the folder that contains your save file, you should be able to find your backup saves and restore your save file from a backup.

1. Right click the game in your Steam Library.
2. Go to Properties then the Local Files tab.
3. Click "Browse..."
4. Open the "EmberKnights_64_Data" folder.
5. Open the "SaveData" folder.
6. Open the "Backups" folder.
7. Copy all the backup saves to a different location for safe keeping.
8. Replace the "rog.dat" file in the "SaveData" folder with one of the backups. Make sure you rename the backup so that it's just "rog.dat".
9. Relaunch the game.
10. When prompted, select the Local Save from the Save File Conflict screen.

The save file backup you'll want to use is most likely your most recent save with the "local" tag added to it. Hopefully youre able to recover your save. Please let me know if youre having any difficulty.
