Void Mantle Dark Spell relic interactions

Dark Spell (meteor or lightning bolt) applies skill damage. This is awesome!

And YET it doesn't gain supreme ambition stacks on kill. Presumably it's counted as a weapon attack?

I kinda get it. But it irks me.
I feel like I can't use it's power in normal rooms if I want to keep up my scaling...

Well, it doesn't trigger "perfect cast" relics either ( healings, armors, refresh, etc... )... I can only assume it's intended for weapons ( as you already said, they count as weapon attacks ).
