Save file gone

i got 100% on the game, uninstalled the game and after reinstalling it because the new update my save file is gone, do i just have to restart or can i get my save file back?

Hey there, this is Greg from the Dev Team. If you had Steam Cloud Saves disabled for Ember Knights when you uninstalled the game last, unfortunately your save file is lost. However, if you selected the wrong save from the "Save Conflict" screen on startup, you should be able to recover your save.

1. Right click the game in your Steam Library.
2. Go to Properties then the Local Files tab.
3. Click "Browse..."
4. Open the "EmberKnights_64_Data" folder.
5. Open the "SaveData" folder.
6. Copy your current save file "rog.dat" to a safe location so it can be restored if needed.
7. Open the "Backups" folder.
8. Look for a save file that contains "rog_cloud" in the name. If no such a save exists, then your save file is most likely gone, but you can try the other backup saves.
9. Copy all the backup saves to a different safe location.
10. Replace the "rog.dat" file in the "SaveData" folder with one of the backups. Make sure you rename the backup so that its name is "rog.dat".
11. Relaunch the game.
12. When prompted, select the Local Save from the Save File Conflict screen.

Unfortunately i lost my save, but anyways thanks for the help ill make sure to turn cloud save on.
