Just my opinion of course. With the right relics (skill crit, refresh on crit) you can spam spells endlessly and never need to use a normal attack again. Mixing that with supreme ambition or poison on skill and infested mind will have you melting bosses in 1 second flat on later loops and with barrier pendant, you can just mash spells non stop without even having to dodge. So far best spells seem to arcane bolts and chakram.
Bow is just safe and long distance and bomb arrows are OP. Also has 2 debuffs (slow and damage taken). Being melee range makes the game a lot harder.
Ember Blade (S Tier) - It could be better without upgrades. However, with Ash's enhancements, Ember Blade becomes a killing machine. Momentum ensures that you can sweep through almost any enemy in the game if you know what you're doing. The variety of dash and charge attacks you can also use makes it downright fun.
Guardian Bow (S Tier) - Range is essential to staying alive, and Guardian Bow provides the best in the game. Its various charge attacks are wonderful, and the strategic mines and decoys make avoiding enemies a breeze.
Nexus Staff (A Tier) - While not quite as good as the previous two, Nexus Staff provides some unique benefits. It's mid-range so you can stay mostly safe, and it hits tons of enemies at once when bunched up. Admittedly, it doesn't have the most significant damage output, but it doesn't suffer too much from this drawback.
Rift Hammer (B Tier) - Rift Hammer is very strong and is THE AoE weapon. Otherwise, the slow attack speed, slow movement speed, and little utility when Ash is involved make this Ember Knights' worst weapon.
Razor Wind (S Tier) - On a lighter note, Razor Wind has more range and speed than Ember Blade, hits multiple enemies like Nexus Staff, and you can TELEPORT. The teleportation upgrade also deals AoE damage around you, fitting the role of Rift Hammer's AoE power. Razor Wind might be the best weapon or tied for best.
Reaper's Toll (S Tier) - Reaper's Toll provides little variety or utility regarding Ash upgrades. It primarily focuses on the Slash Projectile, which is also one of the reasons Reaper's Toll is so good. The Slash Projectile lets you attack from afar, and the basic attack also has a decent sweeping range. Of course, it deals lots of damage, which is vital to being good. Its range isn't Guardian Bow levels of reach, but it comes close.
In conclusion, Ember Knights' weapons are super balanced. Only Nexus Staff and Rift Hammer feel slightly off to me. And I know that's opinion-based because I've seen people say that Nexus Staff is the best weapon in the game. I am interested to see everyone's opinions on this.
