I don't need to know my current HP while fight. After fight, I open inventory to check current HP if needed and this is fine for me. Not fine is that after turn off HUD I can't see my skills coldowns. I suggest to add some option to show skills coldowns (some small icons above/under character). Game is very fast, while playing I always have my eye on my character, so it will be good to always see also my skills coldowns.
They should take some inspiration from Dragon's Crown, another 4 player co-op game where a lot of visual effects would often clutter the screen. Each character had a circular highlight at their feet that doubled as a health bar, a contextual resource counter above their heads for characters that use mana/ammo, and each of these HUD elements was the same color as the player slot (red/blue/green/yellow). Plus for online co-op, there were options to tone down the visual effects & damage numbers for your allies so that you could see your own character's effects more clearly

Having a uniquely colored health bar and skill indicators attached to your character in Ember Knights would be a huge improvement. It's easy to lose track of how many more hits you need to recharge your skills when you're focused on dodging a bunch of enemy attacks in the middle of the screen
When you walk toward the bottom of teh screen, your character is almost a 75% close to the bottom part leaving 25% of the screen space where you wan't to go (personnally i would reduce this effect or make it option). If you had the presence of the UI and the fact it does't get transparent for ennemies (only players). you can't see where you go and take free damage
