Give us our first skill earlier
The interplay between skills and regular attacks forms the core of the combat in Ember Knights (at least in the current iteration). They make the game more dynamic and break up the monotony of pressing your sword button over and over. Why do we have to wait until we've already cleared 3-4 rooms before we get our first one?

If you'd like us to start out with just the weapon, that's fine -- just have us do room #1 with no skill, and then give us the skill when that room is cleared. That way, your run immediately differentiates from all the others, instead of every first 3 levels being identical for every run.

I do think that for the first clear when we're getting used to attacking and dodging that delaying the skill a few rooms helps make things more focused for the brand-new player experience. After this first run, we don't need our hand held to the same extent in every subsequent run - it gets boring.

Think about Toriel leading you through the maze in Undertale. Just let me do the thing I'm here for!.
