The only real benefit of buying it on Steam is to have Steam tracking your time played and the achievements. Some games also might allow to join online lobbies through the steam friendlist, but i don't know, if F1 22 will allows it too.
If you don't care about these things, then you can also just buy it in Origin directly
It's not about 2021. Kobi already does have the game anyway, what the mouse icon tells you behind a users name.
But since 22 is a third party game it's definitely a valid question about how this kind of connection works.
