Controller issues
I recently bought a controller and f1 2021 to play some career. But i constantly get these random jilts of steering at random points when im not even moving in that direction. Does anyone know if this is a game bug or a controller bug?
Help appreciated :)

Check the options to make sure you don't have steering assist enabled. Or braking assist for that matter. These let the game steer or slow you down if you're going to go off track and obviously aren't what you want to play with.

Na, its like randomly on a straight itll just swurve me in a random direction or something like that, most of my assists are turned off, so it might just be that ive bought a faulty controller.

It could be that you are understeering or oversteering depending on the situation

I thought that too, but its really hard to describe cause it doesnt happen very often. But the movement is so unnatural, and it can just be at any point in the lap, even if im not steering the way it sends me

From my personal experience, when I first started racing with a controller. I would steer in a very conventional left-right manner, thus causing at times the same issue you described. But overtime I transitioned to a rotate steering method, whereas I would have the steering stick already pushed forward pre-turn and swivel the stick left-right as needed, into the down position if the turn was very tight. Then rotate back to the top, keeping the stick at the top of the rotation till the next turn. Only making very small adjustments in the straight as needed. But always keeping the stick at the top of the rotation position. Once I started using this method, I no longer experienced the issue as described. To best describe it, you need to use the steering stick like a steering wheel, the rotating it as you would a steering wheel. Sorry for the long explanation, but it's the only way I could describe it. Hope this helps.
