Engine failures
So I really love that they've added to option to turn on player faults this year. I have frequency set to low and type to high. First season I ended up with 2 or 3 failures throughout the season, and was actually surprised it wasn't more given the lack of durability upgrades early on. I did focus on durability towards the end of S1.

Now here is where my mind is blown. I've done 5 races of the second season now, and in 3 of them my engine has failed. NOT ONLY THAT, all of them has been control electronic failure, which you obviously only get 2 parts for without penalties. So in 5 races, it's killed 3 Control electronics components, given me a 20 grid penalties as a result and inevitably at least another 10 towards the later stages. Am I the only one who's felt this hard of a wrath from low frequency player faults? I would feel that's too much even at high, especially given I've got the second durability upgrade for control electronics

I was looking for someone with this issue because I'm in a very similar situation. Just finished the fourth race of my second season and I had my 6th retirement since the start of the first season. Same options as you. I wonder if you put frequency on high, you have an engine failure at each race ? It is so dumb, I have twice more failures than the AI, this is stupid and it ruins the experience...

Any chance you drive over curbs alot? Bumps adds wear to the ecu (Jeff give me warnings about it)

Not that much, and I'm not driving different than season 1, if anything probably better given more practice. The engine isn't wearing out quickly at all, it just dies on me

Yeah I was thinking about that too...

I ended up taking a couple of days of and started again today. First race in France, Jeff comes on the radio during my last lap saying "Don't panic just yet...". Luckily I finished the race before he could say more. Then I go Austria, no issues at all during practice and quali, but of course about 5 laps into the race I have another failure. Not the same part this time though surprisingly enough, but still... 7 races and 4 failures? You could hump every kerb on every circuit and I swear that's still just dumb

Hi, i have the options same as you guys, i don´t have any failure in all 1º season, but in the 2º season now i have 4 failures in 8 races... I don´t know what is happening...

The game will just use RNG to determine, which cars get a technical failure and in which lap it will occour right before the race (so reloading won't change it). Part wear doesn't really impact at how likely it is to get such a failure. At least that's how it is done with the AI and i would assume, that it's the same system with human drivers as well.

I would guess, that you're just very unlucky.
