just did my first 25% race started with 3 laps over fuel ran out of fuel with 2 laps to go seriously i need to be 5-6 laps over fuel just to finish race can we say BROKEN Garbage further more its almost impossible to adjust difficulties after weekend starts looks like ill be going back to 2020 this was a complete waste of money thanks for the garbage EA

You do realise this is not the game's fault. 2021 regulations mean that you cannot alter your engine mode during qualifying and the race.

Therefore you must do fuel management during the race or you will run out of fuel. i.e. you must coast and not just accelerate 100% all of the time.

Fuel consumption isn't broken, it is the F1 rules and regulations which differ from 2020.

try short shifting lower revs and lifting more often should save you more fuel.

No mate, your driving is broken. You're pushing too hard too often and burning through your fuel. New 2021 regs make that more likely. Probably scorching your tires as well.

fuel gets used up, tires get worn, that.....is F1. people complain about game not being realistic enough, then people complain it's not NFS lol, when they just need to learn to play.

I have the same thing.
on F1 2020 without adjusting fuel i would normaly over fuel by half a lap for a 50% race.
On my first MY TEAM CAREER in F1 2021 i had to put +6 laps in, i was shortshifting and i was lifting around 50 ~100 meters before my normal breaking zone into almost every corner, and still i only got to the end because of a safty car that allowed me to save fuel, something is off.

Really, odd. It's obviously not happening to 99% of people otherwise there would be more posts about this along with reports on the official Codemasters Forum.

I can only assume it is something to do with "Some" players usage of manual gear changes that is causing this for the few people. Maybe try just 1 race on auto gear box and see if you still have a problem?

it was a bug that has only happened once it was on the bahrain circuit with a honda engine on 25% after running all practice programs i adjusted fuel load and something bugged out i have been trying to recreate it since

Just happened to me on the very last race of the season. It let me set 270 liters and it was still not enough to last more than a few laps, ruined the final race for me. THIS IS STILL A BUG.

In 'reality' the team would know you use too much fuel and would compensate accordingly. Doing the strategy test does NOT do this as it should and in my experience actually makes this problem worse, albeit its horrible either way.

Is it suboptimal? Oh yes and you'd likely be slower for it and be kicked from the team due to crappy driving but that's why we have difficulty levels since most of us (all of us) aren't world class drivers nor do they have a desire/time to improve themselves. Just let us be crappy.

Just wish they'd give the ability to change back in, at least setting it to lean. Yes, it's not in the regulations but neither is traction control, automatic braking among other things and that's still an option. Mind you I'm hardly 'bad' at 100 AI skill on average and don't use most assists but I don't have much fun constantly thinking about fuel saving methods because the game doesn't work as it should when it had a setting that let it work before which the regulations removed.

im at the end of season 3 in my team, and im not having any problem saving fuel, im now having to under fuel the car by around 7 laps, and still managing to save fuel and finish with at least 3 to 5 laps over fuel, i also do 100% race lenghts
