I saw this was an IO game, and searched for Yorg.io. I was pleased to find the original, with its addictive play and beautiful UI, allowing easy upgrading of an entire building type, maximizing it, or both with a couple button presses, HUGE maps and progression as quick as your economy can keep up.

So why's this unrecommended? Because it feels like a downgrade. If you told me this was the first in the series, and Yorg 2.0(the one I found online FOR FREE with ads) was the successor? I'd have believed you.

-The newer, more detailed models look rough around the edges by comparison. Probably the
black edges, and an attempt at building models rather than the original symbols.

-The way you get new turrets is completely different, requiring you to kill zombies rather than having good economy and upgrading your base.

-(Fixable with a mod made by the dev and the community)There's this nonoptional fog everywhere. Just remove it and make the buildings disfunctional unless powered by the core.

-(Again, fixable with a mod made by the dev and the community)Yorg.io and Yorg 3 have insanely different map sizes. Look at the promo picture the developer has showing an entire edge-to-edge base in the Steam preview images, then open up Yorg.io and zoom out.

-I see why modding was added, two of the first few mods released fix design choices like the fog and pitiful map size.

-(the following has been fixed, yay)You ALWAYS have to confirm placement, and your view SNAGS to center on the object being placed! This is annoying, jarring, and can't be toggled.

-(the following is also much better, but I would still like to be able to build with the press of only one button though)Instead of a nice array of options like in the original, just laid out before you, there's these unnecessary sub menus which delay building placement even more. Why not make one toggleable menu with obvious dividers between the building types?

-IN GAME TRANSACTIONS? I bought the game, they can leave a link to a funding site on their store page if they have to, and sure, we can still get achievements for coins to get the items,... but keep microtransactions out of a game that isn't free. Being able to just buy something makes achievement gained items feel worthless anyway. ̶S̶e̶e̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶c̶o̶i̶n̶ ̶i̶c̶o̶n̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶ ̶u̶p̶p̶e̶r̶ ̶r̶i̶g̶h̶t̶ ̶t̶h̶r̶o̶u̶g̶h̶o̶u̶t̶ ̶g̶a̶m̶e̶p̶l̶a̶y̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶a̶n̶ ̶e̶y̶e̶s̶o̶r̶e̶.̶ The coin was removed, but my thoughts on transactions, even aesthetic, still stand.

-Bigger numbers aren't always better. Inflating building upgrades means upgrading matters less, and adds to the monotony of having to upgrade your base by making you upgrade more to get the same increase you'd have in the original. Being level 20 in the original Yorg and being level 20 in Yorg 3 are vastly different accomplishments.

Even after some patches, it distances itself from the original mechanics and aesthetics too drastically for me to recommend it, even after the recent fixes. It feels like a different game, and not because it's improved. This greatly concerns me, because instead of spending time adding new buildings/towers/tower-skins/game modes to the original one I loved from the get-go and still enjoy, time will be spent on this game instead.

For now, I recommend playing the original, it's free at Yorg.io.

This game has a couple things going for it but most of that is overshadowed by how unfinished it is.

Single player can be fun with only a few bugs though i got tired of it because even with a good computer this game slows to a very slow crawl at later stages with too much even off screen to function.

Multiplayer is unplayable for the most part due to server drops and game breaking bugs all throughout it.

Worst part is that the game was abandoned to its bugs very shortly after release and the dev has no intention to go back and fix it when they can just make another game instead.

Genuinely sad that this happens to so many games with so much potential but i cant really blame a solo dev for not being able to complete a project by himself.

This game is really addicting. It's quite a challenge for people who remember playing YORG.io, but still. There are pros and cons but I'll list them out.

Positives :
Balanced Gameplay - the gameplay is quite simple and not too complicated. No-one can get confused, unless you have too many of one tower (Research Lab). But other than that, it's simple.

Heads-Up - While playing, on the top-left, you can see the zombies that are coming toward you next. If you have research labs, you will have buffed zombies, so you have to be careful.

Difficulty (will be in both) - It's really difficult, even without the research labs. The zombies are incredibly irritating but they are quite good for a challenge to make you more addicted.

Negatives :

Difficulty - It is very irritating to see zombies absolutely Hiroshima your base. I apologise about the metaphor if you were offended, but my point is that it is annoying to see zombies destroy your bases because they are too overpowered. Even with 1 or 2 research labs, or a near-max skill tree, I get obliterated by the zombies.

Time - It takes little to no time for it to go from day to night, but takes longer in the transition from night to day.

Overall, the game is fun but irritating. It isn't that bad but it could improve, especially because of the difficulty and the over-buff of the research labs. Thank you for reading. Where is the difficulty ramp up??!?!?!? Its just an easy walk in the park then next round you get wiped of the face of the earth in a second. What a joke

Trash the dev has abandoned the game and is useless on discord. Multiplayer doesn't work at all and the game is extremely hard even on Easy. Don't waste your money.

Very engaging, good replay value

This is a very fun game, but it has SERIOUS stability issues. Most multiplayer matches end within 3 minutes with a network disconnect. About half of the time it says I disconnected, the other half it was the other player. I I cannot recommend this game until this problem is resolved.
