Play the first two lost soul missions and if you don't find anything or find duplicate items, start a new character and try again. Also, if you start a character and don't see any lost soul missions, back out of the map and enter, the levels will change.

Most of those are one character, but then I played another one up a good bit. The last 50 or so, though, are all new character, play a couple, restart.

You may have to make a new character and play 1-2 lost soul missions many times before you get it. That's what I had to do but it's the best way, trust me.

Here's another strategy to try: Keep on playing the side missions for extra Exp. and you'll gain at least an item for every 2-3 runs, I did it and i'm only missing 4 more items.

I think he's implying to do it that way in order to keep your levels down, since as you level up, the creatures you fight do as well.
I've been leveling to 3 or 4, and putting all my points into luck. That way, even a five star soul mission is manageable. Once I hit level 4, I reset the character and repeat.

I'm at 105 victories with 3 items left to retrieve

Did you ever wind up finally getting it? If so, how. I'm having the same problem now, except with the Bat Wing. I actually get Monster Jaw a lot, as well as many of the others getting duplicates all the time... but no damn Bat Wing
