Throwing Trees

So when you pick up a tree and throw it at the sawmill it shows a zero in the green circle but when you pick up the sawmill and throw it at a tree it shows numbers. Is that how much wood you're getting out of the tree when you throw the sawmill at it? Or is that how much damage the sawmill is going to take when it hits it? If it's how much wood you get does that mean that throwing trees at the sawmills is broken right now?
