No Valve Index Support?
I'm only here shopping VR titles, because my Index is on the way.

There is very stern language "MUST HAVE" type stuff and my model isnt listed.

Seems like the Index should work with most, being new but not brand spankin new.

Do they really have to port for each new controller? I guess, but what is steamVR if it isnt an adaption / standardized platform?

Oh this is gonna be a ride I can tell already.

Kinda just imagine the Index as a sports car but not every highway you can take at 120 MPH.

You can use the index, doesn't have finger tracking unfortunately. It's still a great game and likely the index you'll never want for another headset for at least 3-5 years.

Oh, no finger tracking, thats not a terrible compromise, I might've disagreed at first, but I've got my sweet baby now and she can do no wrong.

My initial venture into this device has shown me mountains of evidence that what you say about the Index is true, and truly, this is why I got it, I guess I just expected faster adoption rates, but now that I'm inside the market, its not bad at all. I haven't actually hit a single thing I couldnt use it on, but I've seen a few games where the full hand closes (no finger track) and I guess thats common. I can live with that, by the time I've gotten from the VR HOME, to my stream, to the actual game launching, I've already flipped my audience off a good number of times :)

Anyone curious, can see from my reviews, I'm a fairly harsh critic but for the Index, I have nothing but love.

So, Neurosys420, you got the Index. Congratulations. Did you also get Westworld Awakening and tried if it is compatible? I don't dare to buy this game, cause its still not listed in the Supported Headsets Tab.

I actually just grabbed it on the sale for 10ish bucks last night, I'll update this once I've given it a go. The sale made me forget all about this. I swear Steam knows when I get paid.

In the meantime, I'd mention that the only title I've had real trouble with, was Dr Who, because it's janky vive hands did not align correctly making it nearly impossible to turn knobs in the tardis. Almost every game I have (70 VR titles so far) thinks or acts like I have a Vive, some even tell me I'm using a vive, all of them show controls for the vive but not index, but everything still works fine. I think a lot of this is due to the daily updates to SteamVR and the input system, I recommend the SteamVR beta branch btw, new features and fixes every single day.

The only title recently I recall specifically pursuing all controls (ocu, vive, index) support, was boneworks, which is pretty decent.

Thanks for your prompt reply Neurosys420. I am using my Valve Index mostly to play No Mans Sky, which is amazing in VR btw.
But I am curious to find more good VR titles.
And I am always dubious when the Index is not listed as supported. - But then again, I am also dubious if the Index is listed as supported, because often it just "works" but it is not seriously optimized for the knuckles.
When you update your experience here on Westworld Awakening this will be highly appreciated by me.

Aaaand? The suspense is killing us =) Did it work for you?

I'm using the index with this game. The controllers are not supported. It clearly shows the Vive Wands Controller Model in-game. But it works well for the most part. The one thing i fail to do is initiating duck. On the wands it's supposed to activated by pressing the touchpad, but that doesn't work for me on the index controllers. So i have to actually duck, which works, but is exhausting in later levels. The game is great though no matter what.

Thank you for your anser Crimson Jupiter. I guess ill wait and hope for a propper Index Patch. Usernumbers seems to be rapidly growing, so developers will no longer want to ignore Index support.

I hope you're right. I fear however that this was more of a promo project for the tv series and they might not continue to invest any kind of effort into it.
