Looking For These Options
Hello, I am a new player and I this game is very fascinating to me so far.

Here are some settings options I am looking for, maybe someone could help me find them.

-Default paramaters. It seems like every species defaults with a soft cap and a minimum population for predation. While I'm sure these provide the best experience, I am enjoying watching what the simulator does with them disabled. I'd like a way to have them disabled for new species by default.

-Species filtering. I'd like to be able to filter the list of species by attributes. At the very least, foraging and predators. Just to get a quick sense of how the ecosystem is developing.

-Plankton map. Since they are too small to see, I would like some sort of 'heat-map' to visualize plankton (I'm assuming foragers use these as a food source) to help me decide where to span new creatures. I can kind of cheese it with starfish placement, but it isn't ideal.

Someone please let me know if these exist and I am just missing them! Thanks

Indeed there is. It is a great way to pin down not only the pop limits but also the other settings.
Keep in mind that in [Game Mode] (unless you use the helper command to unlock everything, see my Ecosystem Steam Guide) you will only see the options that you have unlocked thus far. In [Creative Mode] everything is unlocked from the start.

Steps:
1. F3 [Creature Creation Menu]
2. Select your species type
3. Use the [Evolutionary Parameters] menu on the left side of the screen before spawning
4. Inside this menu, you can turn on/off the different limits, caps, and many other settings. When you place that spawn, these settings will apply to every species created from that spawn.

Species filtering & Plankton map

These are both features that would be interesting to use. There is not filtering. However, you can see the plankton on the mini map as purple dots if you have the Leaf icon [Show/Hide Plants] enabled. You can disable the Mountain icon [Show/Hide Terrain] to help make them easier to see. They can still be hard to see depending on how complex your ecosystem is.

Now that Ecosystem v1.0 is now considered feature complete, I may pick back up on the development of EcoLink, a mod for the game that opens up new features. However, currently that is TBD. If I re-start the mod development, advanced charts and graphs with filtering are features that I am interested in. While I have not researched advanced plankton maps specifically, I have researched and am interested in advanced plankton features such as partial and full culling.
