XInput (X360 and Xbox One) Controllers work with the game, but there is no HUD/UI for Controllers and no input prompts. I did read about it, that a X360 and PS3/PS4 version were being worked on at some point, but no idea if any of the Console versions was ever released and if the Controller support is finished or still a work in progress.

Hi there Jorgus,

sadly there is no native controller support as of yet.
I am not aware currently if this is planned for the future, but I'll be sure to forward this matter to the responsible colleagues.

Controllers may still work, but you can't assign any keys etc., there is no such option ingame.

Kind regards

Could probably make a controller setup with Steam though right?

@[CM]badidol yeah I also would love to see controller support. I mean a lot of us are fans of the original Xbox Kingdom Under Fire, which had great Xbox controller controls. This would be a nice addition to the game, in fact it will literally sell me on the game. Have not bought it yet because my set-up is not great for keyboard and I prefer controller anyway.

I did check up on it again via old news and a wikipedia entry about KoF2's Development and the Console version had no RTS mode confirmed back then and a more story-driven approach. RTS is possible on a Controller (Halo Wars is a good example), but still...would be nice, tho.

No idea how it was with KoF1

The first game was like Warcraft but had solo hero parts.

Ah okay, that's cool. I then hope, that the Devs might finalize the Controller Support at some point ^^

Can't get Steam controller support to override the the partial in game controller support. Maybe someone can figure it out but I am not invested enough to try sorry.

My controller won't stop vibrating and there is no option in the game to turn that off.
Whitebleidd Nov 18, 2019 @ 5:32pm
Damn, was hoping it had controller support, even if only for the combat…

This worries me. I'd like to be able to use a software such as Pinnacle Game Profiler or Joy2Key, but if the controller is going to vibrate indefinitely AND there's partial in-game controller that worries may prevent me from playing this game.

Update: I bought the game just to test it. My PinnacleGameProfiler did almost well to override the built-in gamepad support. During the tutorial, no vibrations. After tutorial in the initial quest area, vibrations without the option to turn off.

I may be horribly mistaken, but so far... (PS3 controls listed):

R2 = V (possibly)
Square = Left Click as it relates to attacking
Triangle = Right Click as it relates to attacking
Circle = F and also R
Cross = Spacebar
L1 = Block
Hold L2, then press a Face Button to activate quick slots 1 through 4
Start = System Menu

Update2: I think I could have made do with the no button mapping, but the vibrations defeated me this evening. I can only hope none of you ever lose the ability to use the mouse cause this is kind of a bummer.

I had this problem as well. On your steam client click Steam>Settings>Controller>General Controller Settings>Select Configuration Support for your controller>click your controller under Detected Controllers>Preferences>Rumble Preference.
