With binding of isaac, just work on your dodge
And it becomes much more fun the more you play it. You unlock new stuff and find new secrets. At first, the game is just about luck with getting good items and dodging. Soon, it almost becomes a strategy game.
And for harder games, try this one.
Lol. But seriously, Isaac is fun because of the permadeath, which gives it replay value. Once you get used to the idea, it's a lot of fun.
Dude, I'm 25 years old and I play video games since I was 5. Believe me, I played a lot but this game drives me crazy. Maybe, my skills don't fit to this game or I still didn't spend enough time but it happens. You don't have to be good on every game. The question is how far did I suppose to go in 2 hours because I see people played the Binding of Isaac over 300 hours.
Exactly! Permadeath is the essence. Well, I'm not sure whether I want to spend hundreds of hours but thank you! By the way, Touhou? I think It's much easier.
The only thing that puts me off is dying after 45 mins due to a total ♥♥♥♥ run with crappiest items. (I clear the game often, but sometimes the unexpected...)
I think my love for masochistic games made this game 7/10 in scale of difficulty.
Currently sitting on 21 hours, 70% of game done, I need one more cathedral run to unlock the next world. Hopfully it will provide a bigger challenge, as of yet this game is far from the extreme.
If you want hardcore difficulty, I'll be happy to guide you to some :)
My only advice to you is to not wait for the best combo of items to appear, the game can be cleared pretty much with any setup you get, rather focus on learning enemy / bosses patterns.
I've managed to take out Isaac this way with eve with her basic tears and no familiars (besides her pet).
However, I do agree it is a difficult game, and you make little progress in 2 hours, if you've never seen videos of the game and stuff. I think you just need to get used to the controls, and then the only thing that might screw you over are poor decisions, and bad luck on items and drops.
1. Beat Sheol with Isaac, this unlocks Mom's Knife, an insanely powerful item that is pretty common
2. Beat It Lives with ??? (though this is harder because to unlock ??? you have to beat mom's heart 10 times) to unlock the D6, an item that ISAAC STARTS WITH and can re-roll any item you get, making the game more fun and interesting.
