Samson and Eve Strategy
After beating the game with Judas last night, I now only have Samson, Eve, and ???? left as characters with which I haven't yet completed the game. The problem is, I can't seem to make either of these characters work for me. Eve does too low of damage unless you can get her Curse to activate. Samson takes a while to get to doing high damage and has a hard time with bosses that don't spawn other monsters to kill and increase rage.

I also seem to be getting into a rut of terrible luck on my last few runs. I seem to keep coming up short on keys to where I end up having to miss an item room or two on the early floors. It also seems like what I do get either works poorly with the characters' strategy or is just terrible in general. Is it the nature of the game to make key and bomb spawns more rare with each subsequent victory? I know that it keeps getting more difficult. Maybe I need to reset my data so I can run the game with these two characters before it gets too hard.

Your goal with Eve is to get a devil deal or a good item that replaces your red hearts with soul hearts giving you infinite curse. That will make up your low dmg. Now just to try and collect soul hearts and survive. Just died with Eve on womb 1 with poly, quad, brim. SO MUCH DAMAGE.

To beat the game (Satan) with Samson and Eve, I just used the Dr. Fetus challenge, because I like Dr. Fetus and it makes the game a whole lot easier, even more so if you don't get the treasure rooms anyway. I've never beat the game "normally" with Samson, but with Eve for me (I beat Isaac and ??? like this) it's to hopefully get a Soul Heart on the first floor or so, and use a fire to almost kill myself before picking up the Soul Heart. That starts off an almost permanent Curse boost, although I do accidentally ruin it sometimes. Additionally, Guppy's Paw and/or the aforementioned Devil Deals can do wonders in keeping the Curse Boost. Getting all Soul Hearts is definitely a good way to go.

Yea, with eve you want devil deals. Peferably those that gives you soul hearts in return such as the nail or pact. Unless you are confident in your dodging skills.

You can guarentee yourself a first devil room on the second level and onwards if you do not take any red heart damage on the floor. Note: You need to restart your game to reset the devil deal chances.

Check out the wiki page. There are alot of strategy for each characters.

How did you enter the Dr Fetus challenge as them? From what I understand, you can only play as Isaac in the challenges. I still have to beat Mom's Heart 4 or 5 more times to unlock the content past that. Maybe I should hold off on these characters until I unlock more and can get further achievements in a run with them. They aren't ones I would use normally and I don't plan to play them much outside of getting achievements associated with them.

you CAN only play as Isaac during the challenges. Best thing to do is to dodge/learn how to dodge to best defend against the low life. Also, pick up soul hearts at the end of the level so as to best give yourself a fighting chance!
