How do I open Barred Doors?
I've been looking around the web for an answer for the past 20 minutes and I've found nothing. Some people suggest killing the boss, some say you need full HP, some say you need at least 5 full hearts, some say you have to kill all enemies on the floor. No one seems to know exactly what to do to open these doors.

It's 2016, I feel like we should have a clear answer by now; how exactly DO we open barred doors? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You must have only 1 red heart I believe :-)

Do you guys mean having a maximum of 1 heart container, or just being damaged and 1 heart remaining?
