If I might ask, is it actually launching the game from steam or are you able to launch the game and it doesn't work when you choose your character?

I searched google a bit and I couldn't find much, sorry. The only advice I found was to try opening through a shortcut on the desktop but I don't know if that is a legitimate fix as I've never had this problem. Sorry I couldn't help and I hope you manage to get your game working

To be clear, what happens exactly when you try to run the game? Does the game get stuck on "Preparing to Launch" or does it open, then instantly close again? Does something different happen?

Try some of this basic troubleshooting as well:

There could be any number of reasons the game isn't booting and it's hard to narrow it down without more information. That I can tell, there's no crashes and boot problems related to Binding of Isaac specificly, so it's probably an issue with your computer or Steam and you should start there.

I've seen your comments on a few other posts and I know you're trying to help but with binding of isaac it really doesn't matter how much ram you have as only 1gb is required which you are almost gaurrenteed to have on your computer unless you paid <£150 for it or it's over 5 or 6 years old

I've had this issue before with a different game, and unfortunately there could be any number of reasons that's happening. Your best apporach would be to run a google or steam forums search for "game crashes on startup" or some variations and just keep trying fixes until something works. I tried doing a search for you, but most of what I find is only half relevant and the suggestions don't usually work anyway. Common ones are: try to launch the game directly from the folder, verifying the game cache, update/reinstall Flash, update your drivers, uninstall Isaac completely (including removing save data) and reinstall.

The game sometimes just does not freaking work because Flash, and people have gone as far as reinstalling the OS before getting the game to work (which if you're anything like me, this is a hefty process and not recommended). If one of those suggestions works, or you do find a fix elsewhere, please post it back here on the off-chance it helps someone in the future.
