The game lobby should of made people aware of how to choose the single player mode.
Edit: well anyway I can’t select offline mode (with the keyboard), nor access the keyboard settings (pressing Y does nothing and pressing the key that would be Y if I had a qwerty keymap does nothing too).
Edit: it’s playable with my PS2 joypad. The game tells me to press A/B/X/Y as if I had an Xbox 360 pad but I know where they are so it’s ok.
If you use your keyboard to play the game, then the game should tell you to press SPACE to toggle playing online or offline. The game will only prompt you to press Y if you are using a controller.
If you are still having trouble playing single player, you can always play online but play by youreslf, meaning you don't have to wait for others to join your game to continue. When you create a new lobby, you can begin the match even if you are the only one in the mission.
If you look at the bottom left hand corner of the screen, there is a prompt on how to switch between playing offline and online.
Do you prefer the keyboard? If you do, I recommend unplugging the controller so the keybindings don't get confused. Or if you are using the controller for multiplayer, use only the assigned player to control the menus.
Either way, I think if you press Space (keyboard) or Start (controller) on the main menu, you will be able to access offline mode.
