Are there opponents or is it just easy solo game?

The game needs multiplayer or ai opponents, or else there is no challenge in the game.

don't own it yet, but on the store page the roadmap lists multiplayer as a Q4 feature. its also in videos/screenshots as disabled currently.

The challenge is mainly to min/max and optimize all your production chains, transport lines as well as supply and demand for cities and their growth. If you are ambitious, this can become quite a challenge. On the larger maps and harder difficulties, it's quite challenging to make money at all, no opponents needed.

That being said, multiplayer modes and AI opponents will be added during Early Access.

No offence, but all the devs on these type of games say the game is challenging, but all the games are way too easy even on the hardest difficulty, so only challenge in these games are other players or multiple really good ai opponents.

Good to hear that multiplayer and AI opponents will be added - should have been added before release tho, but better late than never :)

I'll wait for the multiplayer and ai opponents before buying the game, so hope it will be added before christmas, so I can play the game in my christmas holiday. :)

It depends on the player, I know players playing Diablo 4 and complaining that even on most difficult mode it's too easy and then you have players saying it's way to difficult and that the easiest mode needs to be toned down a lot. So if your one of the players that find games too easy for your skills, I feel for you. They can't be for everybody.
What would help is an editor so that players have the chance to make scenarios / maps that are pure torture to play for the average middle ground players.

I assume that the multiplayer will include a versus type thing where you're both running separate companies I would also like to see a cooperative type thing as a friend will typically work on different parts a good example with Anno 1800 I build the cities he builds the Navy and then if I have troubles I can direct him say hey can you build me roads here can you build X
