Game takes forever to load
Do you think this has something to do with running the game on a 2011 macbook pro? Cheers

Laptops usually aren't great for gaming to begin with, unless they're specifically marketed as a "gaming" laptop. That laptop is also 9 years old. That's ancient in gaming terms, like trying to use a Playstation 3 to run a Playstation 4 game.

So yeah, if the game runs at all on that computer it is not likely to run very well.

I also googled and I think 2011 macbook pros might have still come with spinning disk hard drives. If so, that would probably explain the slow load speeds.

I liked my 2017 razer blade. People have still seemed to like the more recent models, too. Mine had a production problem. The battery swole up on me and a small percentage of other people, but I bought an aftermarket replacement and the machine is going strong still.

System 76 makes some linux-specific laptops that come with nVidia GPUs (which is my favorite GPU brand). I haven't used any of their hardware, especially not heard anything specific about their laptops. I have heard good things about some of their desktops. However I really like their distro POP_OS (which is free and doesn't require you to buy their hardware, of course). So maybe you could look up reviews on them?

There's several other brands of gaming laptops out there, and I think I've seen decent reviews for a lot of them. So probably just best to find "gaming laptop reviews". The base price for decent gaming laptops has come down quite a bit in the last 4 years, though if you still have $2k+ to spend then you'll be able to get something that will run games very nicely. And since prices are coming down (or at least they were before all this C-virus craziness), even if you don't have that much to spend you can still probably get something that will play most games pretty comfortably.

I haven't spent a lot of time researching gaming laptops in the last 2 years, so there's probably more competition out there than when I bought my razer.
