Why are the gun sounds SO LOUD
Regardless of my sound level they are DEAFENING even with the "soften gun sounds" option turned on!! I'm playing this game at bloody 10% and it's still deafening!!! Imagine the fright I got when I was playing at default!!!

EDIT:
I'm not complaining about the guns being "realistic" I am complaining about the game giving you zero warning as to how loud they are going to be. A warning would have been appreciated lmao! The menus and everything were so quiet, but the second I got shot at I about empties my pants. The "soften gun sounds" feature seems to make no difference.
I do not mind the gun sounds. I mind how loud it is. Please understand what I'm complaining about. I played Receiver 1 and enjoyed it and wasn't expecting this from the second game rofl.

I think everyone understands what your saying but doesn't feel the same way. Personally I love how loud the gun sounds are. I hate it in movies when they soften the sounds, it ruins the whole experience. I cant comment on the "soften gun sounds" feature because ive never tried it but i still cant fathom how it can be deafening. Are you using headphones for some reason?

people are so helpful in this. I still think that it's a bug, because "soften gun sounds" makes a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ big difference

The SFX Volume slider exists, if softening the sounds is still too loud for you.

Check your system settings. No, not the game settings, your operating system. Pretty much every OS has it's own mixing board, which is applied to every game that runs on it.

The entire game should become progressively quieter the more often you fire, until you're completely deaf. One more safety lesson for the player.

I don't care about the realism aspect. This is a video game. I'm trying to protect my hearing, not lose it. The guns are deafening regardless of sound setting even with the "soften gun sounds" setting. That's my complaint.
Turn your volume down. Guns are loud as hell, and the game represents that.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I know this is an old post but you can also click a toggle on the settings menu that dampens the noise and makes gunfire less "sharp" sounding, if turning things down isn't your cup of tea.
