Sig Sauer P226 safety doesn't toggle
Per title, the safety only stays on while holding the button.

It just safely lowers the hammer.

Just like what Redd said. Similar to the 1911, the P226 won't fire when you holster it with the hammer forward. Though, that's my speculation from two seconds of testing in the firing range.

P226 doesn't have a safety, it has a decocker.

The safety is a decocker for the hammer. The gun is double-action, so pulling the trigger still works the action

It's DA/SA. Pure double actions don't have a decocker cause they're always decocked.
