Drone demolition

Alright. I read the other discussions here talking about this. Still, it doesn't work.

I tried every thing. I took down 40 drones each taking them apart piece by piece. I take down the rotors, the rotor covers, the motion sensor, the taser, the battery, the camera, the covers that are around the body. Still. the achievement won't pop. What am I doing wrong?

At this point I just think it is bugged.

I think you might have to shoot components in a sequence. What I mean to say is that some components you can destroy will take others with them, I've only unlocked the one for the turret not the killdrone. Similar to you I always seem to run out of parts to shoot off of them and no achievement ever unlocks. I hope someone has a better answer!

Don't forget a little known component of the both entities: the wire. Unsurprisingly this achievement only requires the parts that have an internal value; the battery, motor, ammo compartment, camera (infrared breaks upon destroying camera), and the very untalked about wire that is in the pivot. I just earned the Turret achievement expecting that I had to do more damage to the legs of a turret.

So in the drone's case you'd have to try to break a wire that looks black.

You sir are a saint. After shooting a destroyed drone for a while and searching for a wire, I noticed the battery was connected to the remainder of the drone (rotor shaft) that couldn't be destroyed any further, anytime I shot it, it seemed to drag the battery thing around and lo and behold, I notice and shoot this wire connecting it and the achievement popped up. Where this wire was hiding, I have no clue.

Edit: After some further testing in the compound, it turns out, this wire is inside the drone's main body. You have to shoot it apart which can expose the battery and the wire which is connected to the rotor shaft.

In case you still haven't yet got it.

Do it with the inactive one in the compound near the dome.

You can keep repeating until u break everything.
