I love the SAA because it's fun to use. I like the Glock as it feels a lot like it's real-life counterpart. While the P226 in theory is my favorite, I struggle a bit with the sights so it is probably my least favorite to actually use accurately.
I've had HiPoints jam with eeevery shot in a magasine several times. Which is fairly realistic.
In reality, the Glock has three safeties but they are all operated by pressing the trigger. I think the game does the Glock a disservice in that they portray it as prone to NDs. Its heavy trigger and trigger safety means the chances of a ND are very slim unless you explicitly pull the trigger.
And I imagine the Glocklegging has been amped up for the sake of the gameplay. The game does make a point about how Receivers should be 100% certain their weapon is loaded, because the threat will make sure it isn't if they don't, after all.
However now that I'm used to the Glock and I'm a lot less likely to accidentally discharge I find the Glock less stressful to play with. Still, it would be nice if the Glock didn't have accidental discharges.
I mean I don't have a clue how real guns work, but as others have pointed out the Glock does have a safety built into the trigger so an accidental discharge seems pretty unlikely while holstering.
So for me it's a bit boring when weapons work flawlessly in this game. I love playing around with them. But when it comes to accuracy I would say either 1911, Glock or M9. I manage to hit long shots with them.
Least favourites are revolvers, simply because they can't jam, no malfunctions and very limited interactions lol.
Are you sure about the horrible accuracy? I've had pretty good results with this gun (not much different from the Model 10).
Hm... having a flintlock in the game might actually be interesting.
Also... I find the SAA not that bad.
As long as you pick fights very carefully and plan ahead, you should be fine using it.
When there are few drones ahead I tend to load just one chamber and then take my shot.
I really like revolvers, snub-nosed revolvers especially, but I also like all the guns the game offers (excepting the hi-point, that's not a gun), they all sit well with me quite finely, especially the snubby, the Colt Detective Special. But then I roll the Smith & Wesson and am very mildly disappointed that it's not the Detective Special.
It's similar to wanting, let's say, a nice ripe fruit, a mango for example. So you go to the store, but are disappointed that all they have are rock-hard green mangoes. Or, as another example; it's like wanting that one specific fork or spoon in your silverware that feels great to use and looks nice, but you look and it's not there, so you grab a boring old fork or spoon instead.
With the S&W M10, there's really nothing special about it other than that it is a revolver. I get that it's one of the original guns from the first game, and I understand that the game needs a "base" gun for both semi-autos and revolvers, with extra ones for gimmicks, but it's just... bland.. compared to the beauty, style, and elegance of the Detective Special, or the classic feel of the SAA. I know, S&W cylinders do spin backwards compared to Colt, and that can be considered a "wow" factor, but ehhh...
