Crash on startup

I picked the game up on sale, and was quite eager to try it. But it just won't run. I get to a screen with the dev's logo (rockfish) and a loading symbol of five or six rotating squares at the bottom of the screen. Then I crash straight to desktop. every time.

Yes. I checked the integrity of the game's files.
Yes. I updated my drivers and made sure all anti-virus programs whiteflagged it.
Yes, I did every other trick I could think of or look up.
The game just won't run on my system.
I already refunded the game, but I thought it might be helpful if I listed my problem and my rig's stats, in case it was just a hardware issue, or if anyone else had the same problem.

AMD FX 8350 8-core processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 Super.
8-gig RAM.

Mid-tier stuff, I know, but it works with every other game I own. I hope this helps.

Hey there.
Your specs look OK and well within our minimum range so without further testing we can't help pinpoint the issue for you as you've uninstalled/refunded.
A straight crash to desktop is unusual, as you should receive a UE Crash Report if it does so.
The only next logical step would have been a complete uninstall and reinstall of the game.

One thing to try is see if the free Demo works for you or crashes in the same manner as it is a slice of the main game.

Your specs are comparable to mine, and the symptoms here look almost exactly like what I had. If it's the same thing, the fix is easy, and caused by a bug in the latext NVidia drivers, best I can tell.
