Could you possibly let us know how the game is crashing?
You've mentioned that the crash "recurs in precisely the same way" so it's a repeatable crash?
(just a gut feeling: maybe Geforce Now and Unreal Engine dislike each other in your Case)
It is a repeatable crash. When launching from the GeForce Now dashboard the GeForce Now session starts like normal. During Early Access and after the official launch (until May 9th) the splash screen for the game would pop up and then the game itself would launch. Now the only window which appears is the Steam window. The game appears to be launching like a normal Steam game, then the status changes from Running back to its pre-launch state. There is no error or crash message and the Play button is again visible in the Steam window as though the game has closed back to the desktop.
Thanks for the updated information. I'll send it across to the team but we've not had any other reports on GeForce Now with regards crashing, including at startup as you're experiencing.
Also, what did GeForce Now support say when you contacted them?
From the GeForce Now support chat log: "Zia: I see this is an open issue and developer team is currently investigating into it "
This was after they had me test on both PC and Mac GeForce Now apps along with launching the game session from Google Chrome via play.geforcenow.com. They also had me delete and reinstall the respective apps and remove all of the cache files.
From the conversation with Zia at GeForce Now, they see it as an issue on their system.
One of our team may respond here directly, or I'll reply with any response I get.
Hopefully GeForce Now will come up with a fix soon.
