Xbox Elite 2 controller A button not working? *Solved?*

***Solved*** During a work break, i re-synced controller to my bluetooth and launched game to give it another go and it's now working. Not entirely sure why, but likely just needed another PC restart after my troubleshooting last night. Hopefully it's fixed for good, will see and hopefully this helps others. Thank you.

Good Evening, i'm using xbox elite controller 2 and installed game tonight but during tutorial it says to hold A button to cruise and nothing happens, actually sometimes when i press A button it changes from showing me xbox A button to push and keyboard controls as if it thinks i'm pressing a keyboard button? I launched xbox accessory app and see no issue in test mode, it's registering the A button just fine. I also was just playing a completely different game for hours today with no issue with the A button so i'm confused and lost as to why it's not working in this game and don't want to progress past tutorial until i fix it. I'm done for the night and got work tomorrow but hoping someone who is aware of this issue will post an answer to my issue.

I also noticed if i go into do a custom binding and click on cruise for controller and hit A on controller it puts A, A. so obviously something is off, it's like game thinks i'm hitting A twice or maybe A on keyboard instead of gamepad?

Edit: ok i lied, i tried few more things but it's getting late. I tried unplugging my other peripherals, i also after the 3rd USB cable found one that allowed the controller to be recognized to do a firmware update. But still nothing, game still registers A, A when i press A on controller in the customer configuration menu and won't recognize that i'm pressing and holding A to cruise in-game. I don't want to have to start playing around with all the custom configurations to try and fix this. Just trying to get the controller to work with default controls for now. I will see what other troubleshooting i can do tomorrow if no one advises what i'm doing wrong. I've played many other games without 0 issues with this controller so not sure why everspace two doesn't like the A button and again xbox accessory app test mode doesn't indicate any issue, A works fine there.

I also enabled xbox controller compatibility in steam.

*Pressing A button changes tool tips from gamepad to keyboard and back, possible A button recognized as both keyboard and gamepad press at same time?
*A button working in xbox accessory test
*Tried both bluetooth and direct connect to PC
*Updated firmware of xbox elite 2 controller
*Enabled Xbox compatibility mode in steam (Without this controller was also controlling PC volume)
*Unplugged other peripherals, mainly had an razer Tartarus V2 plugged in, in case of conflicts.
*Confirmed A button working fine in other games
*Key bind configuration if pressing A on controller picks up as "A, A" instead of simply A.
