Vindicator drones are a pain sometimes
I've been using the vindicator for pretty much the whole game, and I really wish there was an option to manually destroy your own drones, or maybe call them back to your ship and deactivate them. There have been many instances where my drones will start firing on mission objectives that I'm not supposed to kill or need to talk to. The one that sticks out the most is the redeemer side mission where you have to use the exorcist rockets, my drones would take out any redeemer that got close before the missiles even had a chance to lock on. I just had to sit and wait for the enemies in the area to kill all my drones before I could use the missiles.

experienced this same zhit.

playing on very hard.

try keep move backward, buy more time.

if not, just try on next spawn.

this is a zhitty mission with zhitty quest giver

Same experience here.... scanning an Athorian Worm for another side quest is impossible. The functionality mentioned by OP would be nice to have -> +1

I tend to agree. I do love the idea of the Vindicator, but the whole drone thing is just too much hassle. At least make it so that you undock with 3 or so active drones, that would already make things a bit better. Another thing would be that if you're close to a wreck, they can automatically heal themselves up , so you don't have to press the button. having to go out of your way during combat to heal up your drones is already bad enough, gameplay wise. A slight nerf to Vindicator drones/ship is needed for this, possibly, and that's fine. i'd much rather be a bit less OP with more QOL than the other way around.

Uhm, have no idea, but my drones in Detoxification mission did not attack the redeemer until I attack him with regular weapons.
But, yeah, the function to allow \ not allow to attack for drones could be useful.

But the biggest disappointment with drones for me is that they don't change their color with the color of the ship. :c

I think the best solution that has been suggested is to be able to set your drones to passive/active mode. I think that would resolve the issue in the most straight forward way. I got to be honest, this issue is seriously making me reconsider playing a Vindicator class as it would drive me crazy even though I typically really enjoy "minion" classes.

I agree with this, Vindicator flier here. It would be really great to be able to dock the drones during certain times. An optional toggle-able/assignable hotkey to dock/un-dock would be great.

Just finished a Vindicator playtrough, and yes, it would have been useful to turn the drones "off" for few cases. For some challenges i had to purposefully get them destroyed so they don't interfere. Sometimes a bit over-enthusiastic in killing wildlife, but whatever.

However, i didn't have any problem with the attacking things they shouldn't. Didn't attack Maddocks nor the redeemers during Detoxification. They were quite well behaved :steamhappy:

Did not work for me. Might be a bug. Without the drones it worked.

Destroying them is too much because reviving them is a pain in the ass, stations don't bring them back, but I'm in favor of a toggle for passive/active.

Talking about how annoying they are, the green arrows indicating that they are around you is the worst of all, you can see the count in the top left of the hud, and you don't need to know they are around you, you know that…
