No Vr support? Sad, Just got a quest 3
I had an OG Oculus Quest 1 which wasn't good enough for me to wanna deal with using it and all those cables. But now with Quest 3 it's a game changer when I received it as a birthday gift (was going to buy it anyways at some point). I am not really a big VR guy. But this new headset is so amazing that I put in more effort.

Anyways long story short I realized today Everspace 1 has VR but Everspace 2 does not (not even steamdeck support, even bigger sad). Supper bummed because it is on sale. Anyways, i'll probably go pick it up later on just to support the dev. But I would have picked it up today if it had VR just because I am looking for more VR titles to add to my library.

I am still working out the kinks of quest 3 pairing with steam and such. Kinda figured out a big part of it. I like sit down experiences where I can use an xbox controller with my headset and don't need to move much but feel immersed when i move my head around. Honestly that's all I need. I think that's all Everspace 2 really needs.

Going to try VR in OG everspace next time I have time and don't feel too lazy to get out of bed and put on the headset. I hope dev decides to do this less complex version of VR some day. But I won't hold my breath, I saw them blowing up in other threads about the financial side of things which makes sense. But I think people would appreciate even just a more basic VR approach if possible.

Ill buy ES2 regardless just not yet because I am still working on ES1, and I got a base to also maintain in ARK Survival Evolved that's currently holding me back from playing loads of other games, lol.

You would think, but sadly you'd be wrong. Everspace 1 was heavily criticized for it's implementation of VR despite Rockfish putting in a large amount of work into making VR work. This is primarily the reason they decided against VR in Everspace 2, because to do VR right you have to design the game from the ground up with VR in mind because if you don't the VR folks will be very critical of the implementation. This is what happened with Everspace 1 and Rockfish wasn't going to make the same mistake with Everspace 2. Either the game was designed from the ground up with VR or no VR at all and they felt the amount of time and effort they'd have to put into VR wasn't worth it for the relatively few people who want VR, they preferred to put that time and effort into the game mechanics for all to enjoy.

That honestly makes sense. Just sad because of the crybabies we now don't have even a minimal VR experience in Ever space 2. The gaming community can be one of the best and one of the worst sometimes. SMH.

However since this is an Unreal Engine game, the universal VR injector should work. I don't use it myself, but i remember some people having some successes with it.

There's a thread about that somewhere on this forum.
I loved Everspace in VR, I was assuming that eventually they'd add it here and I'd buy it...
they dont plan on adding it. they ended up spending a lot of time and effort into ES1's vr version, and it still ended up being pretty rough and performed poorly even on a good PC

i cant blame them for not wanting to do all that again when the chance of backlash from the implementation is so high
You can get it to work , with https://www.realityremake.com/articles/how-to-use-uevr-to-play-unreal-engine-games-in-virtual-reality , using some tweaks. It should work. However, do not think you will get any support from Rockfish with this route (and rightfully so).
Funny that it works with UEVR, which just reflects on devs laziness. In turn, they get no money from me.. no VR, no buy.

last i heard about that, it was wonky and buggy. Come back when you want to enjoy a great Game.

Same hilariously ignorant comment every 6 months. I always love hearing someone who has zero or no notable experience in a particular career make a blanket statement about the work ethic of a game development company, especially a company who has consistently provided one of the highest grades of community cooperation in gave dev history. When a surgeon can't perfectly re-attach your severed finger and all it's nerves, I guess they're just a lazy surgeon. If you want to be frustrated about anything, be frustrated with a dev for making decisions based on shareholder requirements rather than the wants and wishes of a game community, but you better have some solid facts to back that up.

Anyways, it's your money, but or don't buy as you said. I'm curious how many games you own that are not VR since VR gaming came out and you first bought your headset. Would be SHOCKED if you don't comment "no VR, no buy" on every other game forum if the game is not VR.

Don't waste your money on everspace, go for Elite Dangerous or End Space.
The developers are so lazy that they are too lazy to even release an interface fix. Everything else has already been done in UEVR.

LLine is so lazy, that he is too lazy to even read the multiple Explanations of the Developers, why VR will not be part of Everspace 2.

As long youre still here let me rephrase that in a more... diplomatic form.
What you want to say is that you DEMAND, that the Developers of this Game program a Patch to solve an issue in a 3rd Party Software, that is NOT an offical Part of THEIR Game?

.... do you sometimes atleast read what youre writing before you post it? Serious Question.
