Hopefully the devs can make an "Equip and launch" button, or a "Move equipment" button next to the "Launch" one.
BUT !!! I believe a quick menu to choose what you want to transfer pronto onto the next ship shouldn't be too hard to create ;)
When you do it via the shop, it automatically fills all weapon slots with the weapons you had previously, if you are switching to a ship with less weapon slots, the rest go into your inventory, so nothing is lost or ruined.
Surely, they could make a similar function for swapping ships in your hangar?
That is exactly what I'd like to have.
And what about when the ship you are moving to is not clean? If you pick a ship that already has equipment on it, what happens then, that item doesn't get moved? The items swap ships? What about if the ship you move to has 1 less weapon slot, which weapon shouldn't be moved to the new ship? What if it has 1 more, you have an empty weapon slot? So on and so forth. There's a lot of exceptions for having the game do this for you and I know it already sort of does it when you buy a new ship, but at least then there's not the issue of things already being on that ship.
All I'm saying this is pretty low priority for me. I don't mind taking the 15 seconds it takes for me to do it manually once in a blue moon and be certain that it worked exactly like I expected. Takes me a LOT longer just to fly back to my base to do the swap. How much time is it really saving you?
Well. it is a neat little QoL, so no big deal if it can't be prioritized or whatever.
That being said, the code/mechanics for it is already there, so it's not like we're asking RockFish to re-invent the wheel. Quite the contrary, we're saying:
"Hey RockFish, that wheel you've already invented, it has a really cool part you can use somewhere else, thereby making your game that bit better and more convenient."
And now I'm tossing a love-grenade at you and RockFish, that way you will do my bidding for atleast 1 turn.
To put it short. We've heard you, but it's low priority right now.
But I thought you Germans had several F1 world champions, so what's the problem? Hehe
Seriously though, thank you for the reply, have some more love grenades for breakfast with your sauerkraut:
Honestly, the mechanics for all those points are already in the game, or should be.
If you buy a new ship, the equipment and inventory gets swapped to the new ship. Every equipment, that, doesn't fit because of missing slots gets put into the inventory. So in case there is already a weapon in a slot it will not be replaced but instead the swappen weapon will be put into the inventory (one way to do it).
So what happens if the inventory gets full? That can happen right now, when you buy a ship with less space. Maybe it will be send to the storage? Which items and what happens when the storage is full? That as well should be solved right now.
So the only new question left to answer is, whether already equipped items get replaced or not.
